I’ve worked in a number of fields, and have written a few patents. They include patents on carbon nanotubes, medical devices, solar cells, electronics devices, sensing systems, computer vision devices, neural networks and 3D systems.
Since I’ve worked at a number of early stage startups, I’ve written many Provisional Patents that were never published. I can generally write a full patent + images in about 2-3 days, once all the groundwork has been laid.
Except for three, I personally wrote the other patents, including claims and images. For some of them, I’ve used external Patent Agents/Lawyers as well, but they generally kept my text as-is. (In fact, the second one from LBNL was pretty much submitted as-is using my initial document, and LBNL’s Patent Agent said that he didn’t need to amend almost anything!)
The patents are in a couple of different fields, and I would be happy to discuss any of them with you if you have any interest.
List (from oldest):
1. “Nanotube network and method of fabricating the same”, USPTO link ; This is a patent based on my Master’s work at Tel Aviv University.
2. Selective Reflector for enhanced Solar Cell Efficiency – USPTO link; This is a patent on based on one of my papers from my PhD on solar cells.
3. Method for Targeted Local Heat Ablation using Nanoparticles – USPTO link; I wrote this patent with my father, and MD, Almost tried making a startup out of it.
4. “Method of deflecting light for solar cells” – Patentscope link; This patent was the foundation for my first startup, Strider Solar.
5. “Power Matched Cascade Solar Panels” – provisional patent (2013) ; I wrote this right after my PhD. It’s based on a paper I uploaded to ArXiv after finishing there.
6. “Mechanized Method of Aerial Transported Maintenance” – provisional patent (2015) ; This was the basis for my “Skeep” startup concept of solar panel cleaning drones. This idea has since been used by others.
7. “Coating and Curing apparatus methods” – Done while at Enki Technologies (did not write this myself) – link
8. “High gain durable anti-reflective coating” -Done while at Enki Technologies (did not write this myself) – link
9. “Optical Imaging of Heated Elements” – provisional patent (2016) ; for my work at an Incubator managing a company working on detecting overheating in electrical cabinets.
10. “Locally Powered Overheat Detectors” – provisional patent (2016) ; also for my work at an Incubator managing a company working on detecting overheating in electrical cabinets.
11. “HYBRID HIERARCHIAL-CONVOLUTIONAL LAYERED NEURAL NETWORK” – provisional patent (2017) ; I wrote this for another startup making a new form of Neural Network. I had to distill what the tech was from scratch, and organize it into a patentable form.
12. “MULTIPLE SENSOR SYSTEM FOR USE IN HANDS FREE CONTROLLER” – provisional patent (2017) ; This was for a first startup spinoff that used EMG and capacitance to detect facial movements for AR/VR headsets.
13. “VIRTUAL TOUCH SCREEN CONTROLLER” – provisional patent (2018) ; For my almost startup, KuberSys, this was the first of 3 patents talking about a full-keyboard input for AR/VR.
14. “FINGER TRACKING SYSTEMS AND DEVICES” – provisional patent (2018) ; Second patent for KuberSys, included many optical devices and 3D camera upgrades.
15. “WRIST WORN AND PHONE ATTACHMENT CONTROLLERS” – provisional patent (2018) ; Third patent for KuberSys, included devices that were peripherals to a headset.
16. “Synchronization of Disparate 3D Cameras” – provisional patent (2019) ; First patent I wrote while working at Mantis Vision on how to combine data from different 3D cameras using the Cloud.
17. “Dynamic 3D Model Generator” – provisional patent (2019) ; Second patent I wrote while working at Mantis Vision on how to create a 3D avatar from a person who is walking through a system of cameras.
18. “Multicamera Capture and Communications System” – provisional patent (PTC in 2022) ; First patent written for my co-founded startup, 3chron. Concept of a multi-camera approach to creating 3D video avatars for online communications.
19. “System and Method for Eye Gaze Correction in 2D Images” – provisional patent (2021) ; Second patent for 3chron, this time a simple algorithmic approach for creating 3D effects in 2D images.
